The purpose of the Princess Camilla Of Bourbon Charitable Foundation is for any charitable, technical or educational cause, with a focus on the protection of the environment and promoting scientific development in the emerging markets.

The reason I chose Mauritius is that I have been coming here for the past 20 years of my life; even though this is home away from home, what is of fundamental importance is this strategic location provides access to the African, Middle East, South Asian and East Asian regions to extend the outreach of the foundation and achieve the highest impact in the accomplishment of the purpose of the foundation.

The intent is to create an immediate and incisive impact and the seriousness of our intent is clearly demonstrated by the strong state support we have requested and received to facilitate as the ongoing activities of the foundation . I would like to extend my gratitude to the former and current prime minister, both of whom I had the pleasure to meet recently, as well as the Minister of Environment.

In addition to several environmental and sustainable development projects we are already working on with the collaboration of the Government of Mauritius, we are additionally promoting another area that is dear to my heart as the sitting President of Les Amis du Centre Scientifique de Monaco, and which is to spread a culture of science and technical know-how amongst the new generation.

We hope to demonstrate very quickly that actions speak louder than words, and even though we are here to announce the launch of the foundation, we hope that the projects and goals we promote and support will speak for themselves.
